May is Military Appreciation Month.
It’s an opportunity to share gratitude for the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve to keep us safe.
Veterans often face many challenges when they return from service, like unemployment, poor mental health, physical injuries, and the need for safe, secure housing. If these difficulties go unaddressed, they can lead to homelessness.
In honor of Military Appreciation Month and the Memorial Day season, VOA Ohio & Indiana partnered with Old National Bank and their Military Veteran Impact Network to host a donation drive to surround local veterans with love.
“Homelessness is a huge issue amongst the veteran population, and I have a hard time accepting that. It’s important to address the underlying issues that lead to things like homelessness and that’s why we’re excited to partner with Volunteers of America for this donation drive,” said Brian Bohrnstedt, Senior Financial Officer, Wealth with Old National Bank.
Donated items will go to VOA Ohio & Indiana programs where veterans have the space to recover, heal, and rebuild their lives.
Now through May 27th, you can visit Old National Bank locations in Evansville or donate online from the Amazon wish list and support veterans in your community.
